Type Locality and Naming

Near the Uryukli settlement, northern slope of the Turkestan Range. A.N. Golikov in 1985 (165, p.51). Stratotype to the east of the Uryukli settlement.

Synonym: Uryukshinskaya Suite, Уроклинская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Uniform flyschoid thickness - gray and greenish-gray, medium- and thick-bedded siltstones, alternating with layers of bluish-gray and black argillite shales. Thickness more than 300-400 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Overlies the deposits of the Berkutlin Fm.

Upper contact

In the Zamin basin, it is overlain by the Dugabin Fm

Regional extent

Water divide and western parts of the northern slope of the Chumkartau Mountains; southwestern sector of the Kyzyl-Mazar uplift, valleys of the Guralash, Baykungur, and Lyatoband rivers.
